Travel Details
Your ship awaits you in the port of Bruges. Embarkation and check-in take place in the early afternoon, where the crew will welcome you on board at 2:00 p.m. Afterwards, it's time to distribute the bicycles and take a short test ride. After dinner, the tour guide will organize a short city tour through the charming historic old town of Bruges, also known as the “Pearl of Flanders.” If you would like to explore Bruges (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) in more detail, we recommend arriving in Belgium one or two days before the start of your trip. Then take your time to visit one of the many museums or simply soak up the unique beauty of this city while enjoying a coffee or a Belgian beer in one of the charming street cafés or pubs.
Your first bike tour takes you through the pleasantly flat West Flanders to Ghent, the university city with a rich history (mooring at the Merelbeke lock, approx. 30 minutes by bike from Ghent's old town). The city was founded in Roman times at the confluence of the Leie and Scheldt rivers. Its favorable location brought great prosperity for many years, reaching its peak at the end of the 13th and beginning of the 14th centuries. After dinner, enjoy a canal cruise through Ghent's city center.
After breakfast, you will spend some time in Ghent. Later in the morning, you will cycle downstream through a varied landscape along the tidal river Scheldt to Dendermonde, which lies at the confluence of the Dender and Scheldt rivers. The landscape around the Scheldt can be described in just one word, and that is “overwhelming”! This part of the tour is undoubtedly one of the natural highlights. In this section of the Scheldt, the speed of the ship depends on the tides. You will travel either by bike or by ship (depending on the tide) from Dendermonde to St. Amands. Your floating hotel will dock in St. Amands for the night.
Today, you will continue downstream along the Scheldt via Temse to Antwerp. For centuries, this section of the Scheldt was a strategically important location for the Romans, Vikings, Spanish, and Napoleon... and today it is a beautiful waterway for a perfect cycling and boating trip! Your destination today is Antwerp, a port city on the Scheldt that made a name for itself as a diamond trading center in the 15th century and is now considered the world capital of the diamond trade. Antwerp is also the birthplace of the famous painter Peter Paul Rubens. There are countless highlights to discover in this fascinating city, including the town hall, one of the many magnificent Renaissance buildings, the historic Grote Markt square, the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe Cathedral, and the medieval stone castle.
Boat trip via the Scheldt-Rhine Canal to the impressive Kreekrak locks. This is where your bike tour through the Wouwse Plantage forest area begins, continuing on to Tholen, once an island but now connected to the mainland. Here you will board the boat again and travel through the Volkerak lock complex to Dordrecht, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands.
The first leg of your bike tour takes you to Alblasserdam by water bus. From here, your bike tour takes you past Holland's most famous row of windmills – have your cameras ready, it's worth it – via Schoonhoven to Vianen with its canals, city gate, and 14th-century walls. The ship will dock here for the night, and after dinner you will have time to explore the town on foot.
During breakfast, take a boat trip to Breukelen, the starting point of your last bike tour. Cycle along the beautiful Vecht river, past mansions and small castles to Nigtevecht, where you can visit a traditional cheese farm. Continue via Muiden to Amsterdam, where you will meet up with the ship again to spend your last night in the port of Amsterdam.
After breakfast, disembarkation by 9:30 a.m. and individual journey home.

Bringing your own bikes Due to limited space on the sun deck, bringing your own bike is only possible on request and to a limited extent. For safety reasons, it is not possible to charge the batteries of your own electric bikes in your cabin. The crew will inform you where you can charge your battery on deck/on board. In this case, the ship's crew and the tour operator are not liable for any damage, loss, or theft of your own bicycle or e-bike.
Timetable and program changes are subject to change. If, for example, a route cannot be navigated due to low water, high water, or bad weather, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety (this is not a reason for free cancellation). The same applies to lock and/or bridge repairs ordered by the authorities that were not announced in advance.
Other information Please bear in mind that your riverboat is not only your “holiday hotel” but also a working vessel that is powered by engines and must be operated continuously, even at night (in some cases with lock and bridge passages). We recommend that guests who are particularly sensitive to noise bring earplugs with them. Passing through locks causes disturbances and unfortunately cannot be avoided.

If you have a different citizenship or multiple citizenships, or if you have to comply with special legal requirements, please check the respective visa and entry requirements with your local consulate.
