From Havelland to the Weser beach: come with us on an autumn river cruise and enjoy the beauties of the north from east to west.

A holiday in a cosy family atmosphere, where relaxation and recreation are paramount. The UNESCO World Heritage city of Potsdam, the city of palaces and gardens on the picturesque Havel lakes, welcomes you. Numerous monuments and exciting examples of modern architecture invite you to discover them on this journey.

From state capital to state capital, a unique mixture of urban flair and idyllic nature awaits you in Hanover.

Continue along the Mittelland Canal, the longest artificial waterway in Germany and the only east-west waterway in northern Germany. At 321 kilometres long, it is also the longest canal in Germany.

Finally, experience maritime flair once again in the Hanseatic city of Bremen: Go in search of the Bremen Town Musicians and explore the popular Schnoorviertel - a picturesque neighbourhood just a few metres from Bremen's market square.

Your journey finally ends in the seaside town of Bremerhaven. Perhaps you will have some time left on the way home to stop off at one of Europe's largest container ports and watch the hustle and bustle.

Tour details

Individual arrival and embarkation from 16:00. Our on-board tour guide and the crew will welcome you with a glass of sparkling wine and a first dinner.

Potsdam

Today is all about cultural diversity. International influences from France, Switzerland, Holland, Russia and many other parts of the world have repeatedly given the former Prussian residence of Potsdam valuable impetus for development and left their mark. The Dutch Quarter, the Weberplatz in Babelsberg or the Russian colony Alexandrowka are just a few of the contemporary witnesses that you will discover on your city tour followed by a walking tour (optional). In the evening, enjoy your dinner cruise on the way to Brandenburg.

Marmorpalais, Potsdam
Neues Palais, Potsdam

A stroll through Brandenburg an der Havel can turn out to be an animal-friendly experience if you go in search of Loriot's woodland pugs. Perhaps you will discover one or two during your tour (optional) through the city. Brandenburg an der Havel has a few years under its belt, more than 1000 years to be precise. And that's why the Havel city with its sights carved in stone has so much to tell and interesting facts to report from the early and Middle Ages right up to the present day. Afterwards, you will pass through the Wusterwitz, Zerben and Hohenwarthe locks during lunch, helping you to overcome the almost 30 metre difference in height. You will reach Magdeburg in the late evening.

Magdeburg

Magdeburg is both a medieval journey through time and a modern cultural city. Discover the fascinating history and hidden treasures of the 1200-year-old city by bus and on foot (optional). The classic sights such as the town hall, the Golden Horseman, the monastery ‘Unser lieben Frauen’ and Hundertwasser's green citadel are waiting to be discovered. During the subsequent boat trip to Wolfsburg, where your ship moors for the night, you can enjoy the calming landscape along the Mittelland Canal and review the experiences of the cities you have discovered so far in a cosy atmosphere on board.

MS PRINCESS

Continue your journey in the morning and glide along the Mittelland Canal to Hanover. The town hall, Maschsee lake, historic city centre and Herrenhausen Gardens - there are numerous sights to discover in Hanover! During a city tour followed by a walking tour (optional), you will discover the idyllic alleyways framed by historic half-timbered façades in the Old Town, the Leineschloss - seat of the Lower Saxony State Parliament, the New Town Hall and the Opera House.

You will continue your cruise in the morning and reach Minden after breakfast. We recommend today's excursion (optional): take the coach to the Westphalian gateway - Porta Westfalica. The valley through which the Weser passes between the Weser and Wiehengebirge mountains with the Kaiser Wilhelm monument has become the landmark and namesake of the town of Porta Westfalica. Incidentally, it is the only town in Germany with a Latin name. From up here you have an impressive view of the Minden region. You will be expected back on board for lunch and continue your cruise along the Weser to Nienburg. Experience the 1000-year history of Nienburg with the night watchman (optional). Immerse yourself in myths and legends and embark on a journey through time into the town's 1000-year history.

MS PRINCESS

In the morning, you will pass through a few more locks on your journey to Bremen. You will reach the Weser metropolis in the early afternoon. Bremen fascinates with its urban diversity, lively culture and is worth a visit at any time of year. With heart and mind, your tour guide will take you on an informative and entertaining walk through Bremen's historic city centre (optional). All the historical sights are beautifully situated here. The magnificent town hall, the stone Roland - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Bremen Town Musicians and the winding Schnoor district are just a few of the highlights. Facts and history are also gladly refreshed with ‘’n büsch'n Bremer Döntjes’! In the evening, the festive final dinner awaits you on board, because unfortunately every beautiful journey comes to an end. Enjoy the last evening on board in a convivial atmosphere with good food and reminisce about the experiences of the past week.
