Itineary
Embarkation at 2:00 p.m. This is followed by a welcome and introduction to the crew. After dinner on board, you can stroll through Moret-sur-Loing. Strategically located on the banks of the Loing River, this charming medieval fortified town inspired the painter Sisley to create his beautiful Impressionist paintings.
Breakfast during the boat trip. Your first day of cycling begins in Montereau-sur-Yonne. This town is located at the point where the Yonne flows into the Seine. Here, the Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Loup collegiate church, built between the 12th and 14th centuries, is well worth a visit. From Montereau, you will cycle to Montmachoux, where you will visit an ostrich farm. Today's destination is Pont-sur-Yonne, a picturesque, friendly town where we will moor for the night.
Today, you can drive through the river valley to Sens or take a longer tour through the countryside. Sens is one of the oldest cities in France. A guided tour of Saint-Étienne Cathedral is on the agenda here. This cathedral is the first of the great Gothic cathedrals in France and served as inspiration for many other buildings. You will also have time to shop, stroll through the local market hall, or take a walk through the city.
On the outskirts of the city is the Parc du Moulin a Tan. This 10-hectare park, through which the Vanne and Lingue rivers flow, is part of the green belt that surrounds Sens. It was named after a mill that ground oak bark into tannin. This powder was used for tanning leather. Numerous water birds live here and there is a rose garden, an arboretum, an animal enclosure, and a playground. There is no dinner on board today so that you can enjoy one of Sens' many good restaurants.
From Sens, there are two cycling options: the shorter route stays closer to the river, while the longer one takes you through the hills to the "Musée de la Pomme et du Cidre" (Apple and Cider Museum). Try the delicious cider produced here! Your day ends in Villeneuve. This beautiful town on the banks of the Yonne is still untouched by mass tourism. Here you can see medieval gate towers and numerous romantic gardens.
Today, the bike tour takes you along the river to the beautiful town of Saint-Julien-du-Sault. The 13th-century Saint-Pierre Church with its beautiful stained glass windows is well worth a visit. Then it's on to Joigny, from where you will spend the afternoon cycling through the surrounding vineyards. The tour guide will show you a few places where you can taste the fine Burgundy wines. The picturesque town of Joigny can look back on a long and successful history of winegrowing. Here you will find historical monuments, old churches, and unique townhouses from the 16th to 17th centuries, decorated with carved Renaissance facades.
During breakfast, the ship sails to Migennes, a former center of the shipbuilding industry on the Canal de Bourgogne. From here, you cycle along the beautiful Yonne River and then continue south to Auxerre. This is arguably the most beautiful of the towns along the river. Many church towers dominate the city skyline and the streets are lined with 16th-century half-timbered houses. You will have time to visit St. Etienne Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic art. You can also take a stroll around the old harbor or visit the 15th-century bell tower.
Auch heute stehen Ihnen wieder mehrere Möglichkeiten zur Auswahl. Wenn Sie sich entspannen und Auxerre Today, you once again have several options to choose from. If you want to relax and explore Auxerre a little more, enjoy the beautiful city with its Abbey of St. Germain, St. Étienne Cathedral, and bell tower. If you can't get enough of cycling, explore the Auxerre area with your tour guide. Ride along the Yonne River and visit the Caves de Bailly vineyard, known for its sparkling Cremant de Bourgogne and the dramatic entrance to the rustic caves beneath the limestone slopes. Saint-Bris and Irancy, also well-known wine-growing areas, are located on the nearby hills. You can also admire the paintings of George Hosott, a painter well known in France, in the Chapelle de Bailly. Simply stroll along the small road by the church and enjoy the view of the lush countryside in this region.
Breakfast until 9:30 a.m., followed by disembarkation and individual return journey.

Timetable and program changes are subject to change. If, for example, a route cannot be navigated due to low water, high water, or bad weather, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety (this is not a reason for free cancellation). Other information Please bear in mind that your riverboat is not only your “holiday hotel” but also a working vessel that is powered by engines and must be operated continuously, even at night (in some cases to pass through locks and bridges). We recommend that guests who are particularly sensitive to noise bring earplugs with them. Passing through locks causes disruption and unfortunately cannot be avoided.

If you have a different citizenship or multiple citizenships, or if you have to comply with special legal requirements, please check the respective visa and entry requirements with your local consulate.

We recommend taking out international health insurance with repatriation, accident, baggage, and travel cancellation insurance.
