Tour details
Individual arrival in Bruges. Boarding from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The beautiful city of Bruges is often referred to as the most beautiful city in Flanders. Its medieval old town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. After the welcome, you can take a short test ride around Bruges on a bicycle. After dinner, discover the large market square and town hall on your own or join your tour guide for a short tour of the city after dinner.
Your first bike tour takes you early in the morning through the pleasantly flat West Flanders to Ghent, the university city with a rich past. The city was founded in Roman times at the confluence of the Leie and Scheldt rivers. Its favorable location brought great prosperity for many years, reaching its peak at the end of the 13th century and the beginning of the 14th century. Many old patrician houses have been preserved in the city center. The cloth merchants met and conducted their business in the “Lakenhal” (cloth hall, 1425). The most important church is St. Bavo's Cathedral, which was built in various architectural styles over several centuries. The cathedral houses a number of masterpieces of medieval painting, the most famous of which is probably “The Adoration of the Lamb of God” by Jan van Eyck. Your ship is moored at the Merelbeke lock, about a 30-minute bike ride from the old town of Ghent.
Today, your bike tour takes you along the Scheldt. Depending on the tide, a decision will be made today as to which part of your journey will be covered by bike and which by boat. Once you arrive in Dendermonde, be sure to visit the medieval market square and the Sint-Alexius Beguinage (1288). Sixty-one houses and a chapel are grouped around its interior. Your ship will stay overnight in Dendermonde today.
You cycle downstream along the Scheldt, past small ferry ports and charming restaurants, to Temse and then on to Antwerp. Look forward to the diamond city, also known as the birthplace of the famous painter Peter Paul Rubens. In this fascinating city, you can discover countless sights, including the town hall, one of the many magnificent Renaissance buildings, the historic Grote Markt square, the Cathedral of Our Lady, and the medieval Steen Castle.
Tonight's dinner is not included in the price. Take the opportunity to sample Belgium's famous cuisine in one of the great restaurants. The crew will be happy to provide you with restaurant recommendations.
Boat trip along the Scheldt-Rhine Canal to the impressive Kreekrak locks. This is where your bike tour through the Wouwse Plantage forest area begins, continuing on to Tholen, once an island but now connected to the mainland. Here you will board the boat again and travel through the Volkerak lock complex to Dordrecht, one of the oldest cities in Holland.
Take the ferry to Alblasserdam. Start your bike tour via Kinderdijk with its world-famous 19 windmills in a row (UNESCO World Heritage Site) via Schoonhoven to Vianen, a small fortified town on the Lek River.
During breakfast, take a boat trip to Breukelen, the starting point of your last bike tour. Cycle along the beautiful Vecht river, past manor houses and small castles to Nigtevecht, where you can visit a traditional cheese farm. Continue via Muiden to Amsterdam, where you will meet up with the ship again and spend your last night in the port of Amsterdam.
After breakfast, disembarkation by 9:30 a.m. and individual journey home.

Minimum number of participants: 24 people up to 21 days before arrival. You can cancel your trip at any time after booking. Please refer to the travel conditions for cancellation fees.
Bringing your own bikes Due to limited space on the sun deck, bringing your own bike is only possible on request and to a limited extent. For safety reasons, it is not possible to charge the batteries of your own electric bikes in your cabin. The crew will inform you where you can charge your battery on deck/on board. In this case, the ship's crew and the organizer are not liable for any damage, loss, or theft of your own bicycle or e-bike.
Timetable and program changes are subject to change. If, for example, a route cannot be navigated due to low water, high water, or bad weather, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety (this is not a reason for free cancellation). The same applies to lock and/or bridge repairs ordered by the authorities that were not announced in advance.
Other information Please bear in mind that your riverboat is not only your “holiday hotel” but also a working vessel that is powered by engines and must be operated continuously, even at night (in some cases with lock and bridge passages). We recommend that guests who are particularly sensitive to noise bring earplugs with them. Passing through locks causes disturbances and unfortunately cannot be avoided.
Travel documents EU citizens (who do not have any special circumstances, e.g., dual citizenship, primary residence abroad, or provisionally issued travel documents) require a valid identity card or passport for this trip, which must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip. If you have a different citizenship or multiple citizenships, or if you have to comply with special legal requirements, please check the respective visa and entry requirements with your local consulate.
