Individual arrival in Amsterdam. Boarding begins at 2:00 p.m. The crew will welcome you aboard and help you get acquainted with the ship. Once all guests are on board, you’ll set sail for Haarlem, passing through a historic lock along the way. After arrival, you’ll take a short test bike ride before the welcome dinner. The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy a first stroll through Haarlem.

Today, a classic spring stage through the Dutch flower country awaits you. You’ll cycle toward Keukenhof, arguably the world’s most famous flower park. Across the expansive grounds, a colorful mosaic of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and many other spring flowers unfolds. Be sure to allow plenty of time to visit the park grounds, themed gardens, and pavilions. In the afternoon, you’ll hop back on your bike and ride back to Haarlem along quiet paths.

The day starts early for anyone who wants to take part in a special optional activity: At 6:30 a.m., a bus transfer departs for the flower auction in Aalsmeer*, the largest of its kind in the world. Here you’ll witness how millions of cut flowers are traded at breakneck speed every day and then shipped to all corners of the world. Around 9:00 a.m., you’ll return to the ship, where a late breakfast will be waiting for you. Afterward, your bike tour for the day begins through one of North Holland’s most beautiful natural landscapes, the North Holland Dune Reserve. The route takes you through open dune landscapes with sandy paths, grasses, and sweeping views. With a little luck, you might spot Highland cattle or wild ponies. In the coastal town of Egmond, you can take a break near the beach before cycling on to Alkmaar. From there, the route continues inland to Alkmaar. In the evening, the ship is moored near the city center—ideal for a stroll through the historic streets after dinner.

*The flower auction in Aalsmeer is closed on weekends and public holidays. This is an optional activity.

After breakfast, you’ll set off on your final bike tour. The route first takes you through the former windmill complex of the Schermer Polder. Your next destination is the small village of De Rijp. Historic wooden houses, a striking church, the lock, and the town hall all tell of the village’s rich past. You’ll then cycle on to the Zaanse Schans, an open-air museum featuring historic windmills, traditional wooden houses, and artisan workshops. You’ll tour one of the windmills; you’ll also have the opportunity to visit a cheese factory and a traditional clog-making workshop. Here, you’ll board the ship again. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely boat ride back to Amsterdam. After arriving, you’ll have time to explore the Dutch capital on your own, whether by visiting the flower market, a museum, or strolling through the shopping streets.

After breakfast, disembarkation by 9:30 a.m. and individual journey home.

Bringing your own bikes Due to limited space on the sun deck, bringing your own bike is only possible on request and to a limited extent. For safety reasons, it is not possible to charge the batteries of your own electric bikes in your cabin. The crew will inform you where you can charge your battery on deck/on board. In this case, the ship's crew and the organizer are not liable for any damage, loss, or theft of your own bicycle or e-bike.

Timetable and program changes are subject to change. If, for example, a route cannot be navigated due to low water, high water, or bad weather, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety (this is not a reason for free cancellation). The same applies to lock and/or bridge repairs ordered by the authorities that were not announced in advance.

Other information Please bear in mind that your riverboat is not only your “vacation hotel” but also a working vessel that is powered by engines and must be operated continuously, even at night (in some cases with lock and bridge passages). We recommend that guests who are particularly sensitive to noise bring earplugs. Passing through locks causes disruption and unfortunately cannot be avoided.

Travel documents EU citizens (who do not have any special circumstances, e.g., dual citizenship, primary residence abroad, or temporarily issued travel documents) require a valid ID card or passport for this trip, which must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip. If you have a different citizenship or multiple citizenships, or if you have to comply with special legal requirements, please check the respective visa and entry requirements with your local consulate.

This trip is not suitable for people with limited mobility.

We recommend taking out international health insurance with repatriation, accident, baggage, and travel cancellation insurance.
