Tour Details

Board the ship in Cologne together with your four-legged friend. Embarkation begins at 3:30 p.m., and at around 5 p.m. it is time to cast off as your relaxing river cruise begins. Leave everyday life behind and enjoy your first few hours on board while the Rhine scenery gently passes by. At around 10 p.m., your ship arrives in Linz am Rhein, where it remains overnight.

In the morning, there is still time for a walk through Linz am Rhein. The historic Old Town is known for its colourful half-timbered houses, narrow lanes and charming market square. The banks of the Rhine are also ideal for a leisurely walk with your four-legged friend.

At around 10 a.m., your ship departs from Linz and continues through the varied Rhine landscape. In the afternoon, you arrive in Braubach. High above this small wine-growing town stands the impressive Marksburg Castle, one of the best-known castles on the Middle Rhine. During a stroll through the historic centre, discover half-timbered houses and winding lanes before returning to the ship.

One of the most scenic sections of your journey then begins. Cruise past steep vineyards, small riverside towns and numerous castles as you travel through the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. At around 9 p.m., your ship arrives in Rüdesheim, where it remains overnight.

The morning is yours to explore Rüdesheim. Take a walk through this famous wine-growing town with your dog and discover the narrow lanes of the Old Town. A visit to the renowned Drosselgasse is, of course, a must. If you prefer somewhere quieter, the Rhine promenade offers lovely routes for a relaxing walk.

At around noon, your ship departs from Rüdesheim and heads towards Mainz. In the afternoon, you arrive in the capital of Rhineland-Palatinate. A walk through the historic Old Town takes you past charming squares, beautifully restored buildings and the impressive Mainz Cathedral. The Rhine promenade also offers plenty of space to explore with your four-legged friend.

At around 5 p.m., it is time to cast off again. Your ship leaves the Rhine and continues along the Main towards Frankfurt. You arrive in the city late in the evening, where the ship remains overnight.

Narrow cobblestone street in Drosselgasse, Rüdesheim with traditional German buildings, ornate shop signs including Baumstriezel Art Café.

In the morning, you have plenty of time to explore Frankfurt with your four-legged friend. The city offers a fascinating contrast between its modern skyline and historic Old Town. Around Römerberg square, you will find reconstructed half-timbered houses, the Römer town hall and Frankfurt Cathedral.

The green spaces along the banks of the Main are particularly well suited to a longer walk with your dog. One lovely destination is the area known as “Nizza” on the riverbank. With its Mediterranean-style gardens, it provides a surprisingly green contrast to Frankfurt’s skyline.

At around 3 p.m., your ship departs from Frankfurt and cruises back down the Main towards the Rhine. Sit back, relax and enjoy the passing scenery from on board. At around 9 p.m., you arrive in Nierstein. Surrounded by vineyards, this traditional wine-growing town provides a beautiful setting for an evening walk together.

Your ship departs from Nierstein early in the morning and continues towards Oberwesel. At around 1 p.m., you arrive in this historic town within the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley.

Oberwesel is characterised by its largely preserved medieval town wall and numerous towers. On a walk through the town, discover historic buildings and charming lanes. Schönburg Castle rises above the town, while the Rhine promenade invites you to enjoy a relaxing stroll with your four-legged friend.

At around 6 p.m., your ship continues through the romantic Middle Rhine Valley. From on board, admire the distinctive scenery of vineyards, castles and small riverside towns once more. In the evening, you arrive in Koblenz. During a walk together, you can visit the famous Deutsches Eck, where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. Your ship remains in Koblenz overnight.

The morning is yours to continue exploring Koblenz. Take a walk with your four-legged friend through the historic Old Town or along the promenades beside the Rhine and Moselle. From the Deutsches Eck, you can also enjoy a lovely view of Ehrenbreitstein Fortress on the opposite bank.

At around noon, your ship departs from Koblenz and cruises downstream along the Rhine. You arrive in Bad Breisig in the early afternoon.

This traditional spa town lies directly on the Rhine, and its long riverside promenade provides ideal conditions for a relaxing walk with your dog. Small parks and inviting squares offer plenty of opportunities to take a break along the way. Your ship remains in Bad Breisig overnight.

In the morning, you arrive in Königswinter at the foot of the Siebengebirge hills and have time for a walk with views of the Drachenfels. The journey then continues to Bonn, where the city centre, the Rhine riverbank and the extensive Rheinaue park offer plenty of opportunities for both you and your dog.

In the early morning, your ship sets course for Cologne. Disembarkation takes place between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., followed by your individual journey home.

Important information about travelling with a dog

One dog with a maximum weight of 25 kg or a shoulder height of up to 50 cm may travel in each cabin.

If two dogs are accommodated in a standard cabin, both must have a shoulder height of less than 30 cm. Two dogs may also travel in the Junior Suite and cabin 223 (triple cabin), subject to the standard requirements stated above.

Dog breeds classified as dangerous under the regulations of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia cannot be accepted on board.

Dogs must be house-trained and sociable. Female dogs in heat may be excluded from the cruise if they significantly disrupt the daily routine.

Each dog requires an EU pet passport, a valid rabies vaccination and a microchip for identification. We also recommend bringing a muzzle in case it is needed due to increased stress, particular circumstances or local regulations ashore.

Dogs must be kept on a lead while on board. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.

Life on board with your dog

Everyone on board is committed to ensuring that you and your dog enjoy a wonderful holiday. With many dogs travelling together, a few house rules naturally need to be observed. Dogs are welcome in all guest areas on board provided they are kept on a lead. However, we recommend that you do not bring your dog into the restaurant. The wellness area with indoor pool and sauna is reserved for dog owners.

Fresh drinking water is available both in the public areas and in your cabin. Please bring your dog’s usual food with you. Fresh or raw food (BARF) can be refrigerated or frozen on board. Treats are available at reception and during the complimentary dog-training sessions. The cruising schedule has been specially arranged to allow for regular walks ashore. A small grassed relief area for dogs is available on the sun deck while the ship is sailing. The turf is watered throughout the cruise and completely replaced once a week.

Changes to the schedule and programme may be necessary. If a section of the route cannot be navigated due to low or high water levels, adverse weather conditions or similar circumstances, the captain reserves the right to alter the itinerary for your safety. Such changes do not entitle passengers to cancel the cruise free of charge. The same applies to officially ordered lock or bridge repairs that were not announced in advance.

Additional information Please bear in mind that your river cruise ship is both your “floating hotel” and a working vessel. It is powered by engines and must be operated continuously, including at night and when passing through locks or beneath bridges. Guests who are particularly sensitive to noise are advised to bring earplugs. Some disturbance when passing through locks is unavoidable.

Travel documents EU citizens without special circumstances, such as dual citizenship, permanent residence abroad or provisionally issued travel documents, require a valid identity card or passport for this cruise. The document must remain valid for at least six months after the end of the cruise. If you hold a different or more than one nationality, or if special legal provisions apply to you, please contact the relevant consulate for information about visa and entry requirements. This cruise is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
