Royal splendor of the Seine Valley

In Paris, in the heart of the city, you will board the boat and follow the Seine upstream towards the south. Your bike tours will take you to an area with a rich and royal past.

The imposing Château de Fontainebleau with its magnificent gardens is on your route, as is the artists' village of Barbizon, nestled in the middle of the forest.

The medieval towns of Moret-sur-Loing, Ferrieres, and Château-Landon reveal their unique charm before you reach your destination, the enchanting Montargis with its numerous bridges and flower-adorned canals.

Travel Details

Boarding at 1:00 p.m. This is followed by a welcome and introduction to the crew. The ship leaves the port in Paris at 3:00 p.m. at the latest and sails along the Seine to Evry, where you will spend the night. We recommend that you arrive in Paris one or more days early so that you have enough time to explore the city.

After breakfast, the bike tour begins at the Evry lock. The destination of the bike tour is Melun, formerly the residence of the widows of French kings, also known as the “domain of the white queens.” After dinner, you can take part in a city tour.

Cycle through the beautiful forests of Fontainebleau to the artists' village of Barbizon, where many artists have found inspiration since the first half of the 19th century. Opportunity to visit the museum. Continue to the impressive Château de Fontainebleau, with approx. 2 hours of free time. The town of Fontainebleau is ideal for walking and shopping. In the charming fortified town of Moret-sur-Loing, you will board the MS Fleur again.

You cycle through the Loing Valley with a stop in Grez-sur-Loing on your way to Nemours. Opportunity to visit the castle.

Today, your tour takes you through forests with bizarre rock formations. A visit to the “Jardin Bourdelle,” Bourdelle's sculpture garden, is on the agenda. You continue by bike to Égreville, whose markets and festivals are famous throughout the region. In rural Néronville, you board the train again.

Today, your first bike tour takes you to Chateau-Landon, where you will visit the 13th-century Abbey of St. Severin. Afterwards, you will cycle to the medieval town of Ferrieres with its beautiful monastery. Today's destination is Montargis, crisscrossed by canals and waterways. Your tour guide will give you the best restaurant tips for today (no dinner on board).

Cycle along the L'Ouanne to Château-Renard and visit the ruins of a 10th-century castle. You can also look forward to a visit to the beekeeping museum with a tasting session.

Disembarkation and individual journey home by 9:30 a.m.

The terms and conditions of the tour operator apply: Boat Bike Tours, Aambeeldstraat 20, 1021 KB, Amsterdam.

Timetable and program changes are subject to change. If, for example, a route cannot be navigated due to low water, high water, or bad weather, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety (this is not a reason for free cancellation). The same applies to lock and/or bridge repairs ordered by the authorities that were not announced in advance.

Other information Please bear in mind that your riverboat is your “vacation hotel” on the one hand, but also a working vessel that is powered by engines and must be operated continuously, even at night (in some cases with lock and bridge passages). We recommend that guests who are particularly sensitive to noise bring earplugs. Passing through locks causes disruption and unfortunately cannot be avoided.

Travel documents EU citizens (who do not have any special circumstances, e.g., dual citizenship, primary residence abroad, or temporarily issued travel documents) require a valid ID card or passport for this trip, which must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip. If you have a different citizenship or multiple citizenships, or if you have to comply with special legal requirements, please check the respective visa and entry requirements with your local consulate.

This trip is not suitable for people with limited mobility.

We recommend taking out international health insurance with repatriation, accident, baggage, and travel cancellation insurance.
