Travel Details

After boarding at around 2:00 p.m., there will still be plenty of time to explore the historic city of Maastricht. After dinner, you can test your bike on a short bike ride.

During breakfast, take a boat trip to Born, where you will disembark and cycle across the Dutch/Belgian border to Maaseik in Belgium and on to the famous border village of Thorn, the “white village,” known for its whitewashed houses. Today's destination is the bishopric town of Roermond, where the rivers Rur and Meuse converge.

Roermond Cathedral

Your bike tour first takes you along the east bank of the Meuse to the beautiful village of Beesel and on to Kessel, one of the oldest villages on the Meuse. Around noon, you will reach Venlo with its numerous historical monuments. In the afternoon, you will cycle to Arcen, your destination for the day. The former fortified town on the banks of the Meuse is famous for its castle gardens.

Arcen Castle Gardens

Today, a scenic bike ride awaits you. First, you will cycle to Well, where you will encounter one of the most beautiful moated castles in the Netherlands, Well Castle. Continue through the Maasduinen National Park to Afferden. Your tour ends in Cuijk, where your ship will be waiting for you. After dinner, visit the Ceuclum Museum in Cuijk and climb the tower to enjoy a beautiful view of the Meuse Valley.

Arcen Castle Gardens

Today, you will travel along the Meuse River to Grave and Ravenstein. Both are historic places with sights from the Middle Ages and the French Revolution. In Oss, you will board the ship again and it will take you to the fortified town of Heusden. Dinner (not included) will be in the town at a restaurant of your choice (recommendations are available on board).

In the morning, take a boat trip to Gorinchem, a beautiful town on the banks of the Waal River. From there, cycle through a typical Dutch river landscape to Leerdam on the banks of the Linge. In the afternoon, continue to Vianen, a small fortified town on the Lek River.

Gorinchem

During breakfast, take a boat trip to Breukelen, where your final bike tour begins. Cycling along the Vecht river, you will reach the metropolis of Amsterdam. Use the remaining time to explore the lively city center with its many sights.

The terms and conditions of the tour operator apply: Boat Bike Tours, Aambeeldstraat 20, 1021 KB, Amsterdam.

Bringing your own bikes Due to limited space on the sun deck, bringing your own bike is only possible on request and to a limited extent. For safety reasons, it is not possible to charge the batteries of your own electric bikes in your cabin. The crew will inform you where you can charge your battery on deck/on board. In this case, the ship's crew and the tour operator are not liable for any damage, loss, or theft of your own bicycle or e-bike.

Timetable and program changes are subject to change. If, for example, a route cannot be navigated due to low water, high water, or bad weather, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety (this is not a reason for free cancellation). The same applies to lock and/or bridge repairs ordered by the authorities that were not announced in advance.

Other information Please bear in mind that your riverboat is not only your “vacation hotel” but also a working vessel that is powered by engines and must be operated continuously, even at night (in some cases with lock and bridge passages). We recommend that guests who are particularly sensitive to noise bring earplugs. Passing through locks causes disruption and unfortunately cannot be avoided.

Travel documents EU citizens (who do not have any special circumstances, e.g., dual citizenship, primary residence abroad, or temporarily issued travel documents) require a valid ID card or passport for this trip, which must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip. If you have a different citizenship or multiple citizenships, or if you have to comply with special legal requirements, please check the respective visa and entry requirements with your local consulate.

This trip is not suitable for people with limited mobility.

We recommend taking out international health insurance with repatriation, accident, baggage, and travel cancellation insurance.
